Model Portfolio Planning Checklist

Plan a small, useful portfolio around the categories you are pursuing. A focused set of current, permitted images is more useful than a large collection of similar or misleading work.

Define the purpose

I identified the category, market, client type, or agency conversation this version supports. I reviewed credible examples without copying another model’s identity, styling, pose sequence, or claims. I wrote a short image list before scheduling or paying for a shoot.

Select the foundation

I included current clean digitals or linked them separately when requested. My opening image is strong, recognizable, and appropriate to the intended category. My full-length and closer images add different useful information. Movement, product interaction, hands, expression, or garment fit appear only when relevant.

Edit with discipline

I removed near-duplicates, outdated images, low-resolution files, distracting watermarks, and work that no longer represents me. Retouching does not reshape my body, replace skin texture, or misrepresent current appearance. The sequence is easy to view on a phone and desktop without horizontal scrolling. Every caption, credit, skill, location, and representation statement is accurate.

Rights and boundaries

I have written permission or a clear agreement for every image I reproduce, submit, or publish. I know where the portfolio will be hosted, who can access it, and how links may be shared. I did not include inappropriate images, home address, government identifiers, or private school details. If I am a minor, a parent or legal guardian approved the shoot, agreements, image choices, and distribution.
