Schedule update — October 11
The Manhattan session has passed. The next scheduled stop is The Bronx on Wednesday, October 28, followed by Staten Island on November 10 and Queens on November 13. RSVP availability can change, so attendees should use the city's live links.
New York City's Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment is taking its first “Made in NY” Filmmaker Listening Tour across the five boroughs. The free sessions pair updates on city services, resources, and production incentives with an open discussion for emerging and established filmmakers.

Why it matters
Film policy often looks abstract until it affects permits, location access, production costs, and what kinds of projects can realistically shoot in a city. The listening tour gives working filmmakers a direct place to raise those operational issues with New York City's film office.
Remaining schedule
- The Bronx: October 28, 5:30–7 p.m., Lehman College Multimedia Center.
- Staten Island: November 10, 5–6:30 p.m., Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 2636 Hylan Boulevard.
- Queens: November 13, 2:30–4 p.m., Museum of the Moving Image during the Queens World First Amendment Film & Arts Festival.
The Brooklyn session took place October 1 and the Manhattan session took place October 8. The city's official page carries the current RSVP links for the remaining stops.
How filmmakers can prepare
Attendees can make the session more useful by bringing a concise example of the issue they want the city to address: the production type, borough or location, permit or logistics problem, and the practical effect on schedule or budget. Specific operational examples are easier to act on than broad complaints.
